As you might know, the Snappers are the Photography Interest Group of Bristol 1904 Arts.
A visit to Quenington has become a firm favourite in the Snappers' calendar. The pandemic created a break in the biennial cycle but on the 14th June, 2022, 12 Snappers and friends were again able to make the journey into the beautiful Cotswolds. It was a glorious day weather-wise and the camera shutters were working on overtime. Jonathan and Ruth Bolgar; Roger and Lorna Bonner; Bill and Jenny Phillips; Graham and Tegwen Evans; John Stone and Elizabeth; Tony Lavelle and Martin Woodhead all made the most of the bright sunshine; shadows; the blue sky dotted with fluffy clouds; the magnificent trees, shrubs and flower beds as backdrops for their photographs of the wide display of innovative works of art that were skillfully displayed to enhance the natural surroundings.
Extract from the exhibition flyer: ‘Fresh Air Sculpture is a biennial sculpture exhibition held in the expansive organic garden of The Old Rectory in the Cotswold village of Quenington and affords a unique opportunity to see a creative mixture of traditional , modern and cutting-edge sculpture in a stunning outdoor setting. The Old Rectory gardens offer vast lawns, joined by a bridge over the River Coln, hidden walkways through trees, pagodas and around tennis courts, beautiful flower and vegetable plots and large impressive green houses.’
