Another great walk with our '1904' Walkers Group ("the February Foray") - this time to the lovely little Cotswold town of Painswick, about an hour's drive from Bristol.
St. Mary's Church in Painswick has the most extraordinary feature of having 99 carefully maintained Yew trees in the Church and graveyard. A sight to be seen and to walk through.
The walk also took in the Rococo Gardens, about a kilometer outside the town, a major visitor attraction, particularly at this time of year to see the abundance of snowdrops in the gardens. And the Rococo Gardens have their own hedge maze - a bit sparse at the end of Winter but surely quite a-maze-ing by Spring and Summer, I'm thinking.
And the walk wouldn't be complete without our smashing lunch; this time at St. Michael's restaurant, serving delicious food by the Romanian owners.
